International Students Secure your Career By Applying for Accredited Schools in Usa

International Students Secure your Career By Applying for Accredited Schools in Usa

If you ask me what is the one most important fact to look for in a university while planning to study abroad. ‘Accreditation’ is my answer, Hands down! Accreditation is now-a-days ‘the most important’ word while planning to apply for schools. Earlier I was of the view that scholarship providing schools or schools in big cities are the best options but I have started believing that, for a 2 year scholarship or for the sake of living in a big town, no one should or can afford to put the entire career in jeopardy. Accreditation decides your career and life in a major way when you are on a foreign soil. A friend of mine who was junior to me in medical school went to a non- accredited school in UK. After his graduation he was not considered for any jobs or higher study options. On the contrary, his classmates who were of British origin got jobs although they had a lower GPA. It does matter for an international student as natives have opportunities irrespective of the accreditation status of the school they went to.

In common terms, accreditation is the official recognition of a school, university or institution for provision of satisfactory education, training or exam preparation. This in turn can help employers/ hiring agencies to know who they are hiring when you complete your education. Should an institution decide to procure accreditation, agencies mentioned below give opportunity to make choices, to exercise volition regarding accreditation. The process of accreditation requires the school to meet certain norms and criterion that are established by various regional accrediting agencies enlisted as follows-

New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)Provides Accreditation to schools in-

Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA)Provides Accreditation to schools in-

Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Navajo Nation, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA)Provides Accreditation to schools in-

Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Central America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS)Provides Accreditation to schools in-

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Latin America.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)Provides Accreditation to schools in-

California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Palau, Micronesia, Northern Marianas, Marshall Islands, and other Australasian locations.

Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU)Provides Accreditation to schools in-

Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

There is no legally designated accrediting agency in the United States and Europe. The only safe route in USA for applying to schools is a thorough consideration of the aforementioned agencies.I don’t deny the existence of numerous agencies in USA but the once which really are acknowledged widely are mentioned here.

Senate Republicans emphasize that a recession is not the time to raise taxes. Allowing tax hikes to take effect in the new year, as Democrats have proposed, could cripple our already slow economy and damage small businesses, who create a majority of the new jobs in the United States. Republicans will continue to oppose any attempt to raise taxes on American families and small businesses.

1-Stop Career Centers, State of New Jersey

State Agencies are NOT USER FRIENDLY. They create more problems than they solve. The only ones secure are the job agency employees (aka: State Workers). Their computer sites need upgrading, contacts more user friendly, and SOMEBODY PICK UP THE PHONE! Even Craigs List is better organized than the State!

While the state lost over 4100 jobs in June, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development reported a tenth of a percent drop, to 5.3%, in its unemployment rate. New Jersey did manage to add 100 public sector positions, while it saw a total of 4100 jobs in manufacturing, transportation, and retail displaced. With a slow building market and retail activity, combined with the closure of Jevic Transportation and its 1000 employees, New Jersey saws its 4 years and counting project of employment expansion, come to an end. Even though it is an increase, at a very small percent, the state is left searching for ways to increase jobs in the private sector. Although 5.3 is below the national unemployment rate of 5.5%, New Jersey can’t just rely on the numbers. www.EmploymentCrossing.com

How to Expand Your Post Military Career Transition Opportunities

How to Expand Your Post Military Career Transition Opportunities

There are many retired military personnel who have various questions when it comes to career transition. Many are baffled at the term ‘career transition’, which simply means changing jobs. Majority of military personnel are willing to pursue a post military career, however, they are unaware about the ways to do it. Simply telling your friends or relatives to look out for a job will certainly not help. You have to go beyond it and use other means to expand your post military career transition opportunities.

Before you widen your job search, it is important for you to know the type of field and organization you would want to work for. You can take a look at what’s happening in the job market, what is more in demand and what helps you earn more money with the flexibility. Once you are sure about where you want to serve, you can begin with your search. Also there are some organizations that prefer to hire people with a military background. Police force, fire brigade, security services and government jobs normally do have a vacancy for military retired people.

Remember every job has its own culture. Make sure you will be able to adapt to it before you start searching. Once you learn about all these things, you need to prepare an interesting and eye catching resume. The resume represents you and can speak volumes about you, so put all your efforts in to it. Check for the latest pattern followed in drafting resumes. If you are applying for federal jobs, they will have their own format, so make sure you follow them.

Upload your resumes on popular and commonly used job portals. Give an interesting title for your resume and use keywords so that entrepreneurs can view it with ease. You can also go through websites of some well-known organizations and forward your resume to their HR team. Placement agencies are other good ways of widening your search for jobs. Let the HR executive know what kind of job you are looking for and they will help you find one.

Look out for jobs fair and seminars where you can walk in with your resume only to meet your prospective employer. Network with people and let them know that you are looking for a transition. If your friends or relatives are working somewhere ask them to let you know about any vacancy they might learn of. Go through the newspaper daily. Read the classified with patience and you might find something right for you.

Be in constant touch with your placement agencies so that you do not miss out on any golden opportunity. Give them a call regularly and ask them about any new vacancies. Also you need to keep visiting your job portal regularly and apply for jobs. Many employers inform the candidates about the first round of interview through mails. Thus make it a point to check your mails daily so you do not miss out on the interview date.

These are a few of the best possible ways to expand your search for post-military jobs. Be patient and do not lose hope, there are several organizations longing for a military retired person. Relax and keep your search on till you find the best profile.

College of Ag News: Agriculture Career Exposition

March 2009 Texas A&M College of Ag News–Agriculture Career Exposition: Students in the College meet with 30+ employers to explore career options, plus interview for internships and jobs.

The Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID) wants to make it illegal to practice interior design in Texas without a government license. Over the past 20 years they have spent tens, maybe hundreds, of thousands of dollars on lobbyists, claiming that unregistered interior designers present a danger to the public health and safety. On June 6, 2007, Marilyn Roberts, president of TAID, e-mailed the group’s membership the following request for information: “We must get cases of harm in Texas!!!!!!! Any jobs you have had that you have corrected something potentially or proven harmful to your clients (harmful physically or emotionally). Any contacts you have with building plan reviewers, Registered Accessibility Specialists inspectors, fire marshalls, inspectors of any kind that would have found violations that hopefully a registered interior designer corrected. Would help to have cases from residential, commercial-large or small projects, medical facilities, nursing homes, etc. Remember, not just fire code related issues, but using materials that are not antimicrobial where needed, not having areas accessible, anything………..” Two years later, KXAN TV-Austin asked Ms. Roberts to name one example of an unregistered interior designer harming a member of the public. Her answer to this important question? “Actually, there are not things that I can document right now.” Regulating interior design has nothing to do with protecting the public and everything to do with
