Best Cities to be a Sonographer

Best Cities to be a Sonographer

If you are beginning a career in sonography, it is a good idea to learn about the best cities to work as a sonographer. It’s also a good idea to learn what the worst cities are to be working in the healthcare field in general, because if you are living in or thinking of moving to these cities or the surrounding areas, you might want to consider another location for the sake of your career. Sonographers, like other healthcare professionals, are high in demand now that the population includes the largest number of elderly people in the history of the world. Being qualified to operate sonography tools such as x-ray and ultrasound machines can be very rewarding both personally and financially – if you’re living in the right city.

According to many experts, the best cities to be a sonographer at the moment are:

1. Boston, Massachusetts

2. Des Moines, Iowa

3. Fort Walton-Crestview-Destin, Florida

4. Madison, Wisconsin

5. Sioux Falls, South Dakota

You may notice that some of the big cities such as New York and the San Francisco Bay Area are conspicuously missing. While these cities have higher salaries for most workers and are home to some of the best healthcare schools, universities and hospitals, the cost of living is so high that sonographers won’t necessarily be better off. For doctors and nurses, however, New York and San Francisco are great places to be. The five cities listed are ideal for sonographers because there are a lot of jobs available in hospitals, clinics and private doctor’s offices, and the cost of living either in the city or within the surrounding suburbs is reasonable.

If you have been trained and certified to become a sonographer but have not been able to find a good job in your field, you might be living in the wrong city. These are considered the worst cities to have a career in sonography or any other healthcare field:

1. Dalton, Georgia

2. Fresno, California

3. Monroe, Michigan

4. Waterbury, Connecticut

5. Yuma, Arizona

Sometimes having a successful career comes down to the right city. This is true of sonographers and many other healthcare professionals.

The best way to Post Job Vacancies

The best way to Post Job Vacancies

With so many places to post job vacancies and so many ways of doing it, it can be difficult to know the best way to proceed. Whether you are a professional recruiter or are just a person who has been asked to hire someone for a role by your boss, you are going to want to do the best job possible. This means you are going to want to advertise your job in the most suitable places, you are going to want to post the right information and you are going to want to receive a good number of applications from suitable, qualified people. This article will help you to do this. If you spend just five minutes reading this article you will find out where the best places to post the job are and what should be included in the posting.

To start with you want to get as much information as possible about the role. If you are a professional recruiter you should contact your client to confirm the important details. If you are hiring as a one off for your company then you will need to glean all the information from your boss or appropriate work colleague. Once you have gathered all the facts about the job such as location, salary, qualifications needed, experience required and what the role involves you need to condense this into a readable and concise job posting. Candidates are likely to be looking through hundreds or thousands of postings each week and that means that yours needs to be to the point, factual and highlights all the benefits. If you want to attract the best candidates then your posting needs to stand out from the crowd.

Start with a punchy first line that provides an excellent benefit of the role, then go on to explain what the job entails. At the end of the posting you should mention the qualifications and skills that are required from candidates. You want to be clear on skills, experience and qualifications needed because otherwise you could receive applications from people who are unsuitable for the role which wastes their time as well as yours.

If you have decided to advertise the job in a local paper then the chances are you will not have much room to provide this information. If you are paying by the word too then this could limit what you include in the advertisement. If the vacancy is in a small town then adverts in the local paper are a good idea. If the position is in a company in London or some other large city then it is usually best to avoid adverts in the paper as they don’t work as effectively as adverts on job boards.

In large towns and cities, most job seekers use online job boards as a way to not only have access to thousands of jobs but also to apply for them quickly and easily without having to fill out an application form each time. There is usually plenty of room for posting all the details of the job when you are using a free or paid job board which means there is plenty of opportunity to get creative and make your vacancy stand out from the crowd. Many excellent job boards allow advertising for free so you can save considerable sums of money posting your job. This is particularly worthwhile when you are a professional recruiter or have several postings needed at once. If you want to attract the very best then you should find a job board with good levels of traffic which allows you to pay for a featured listing. This lets job seekers know the position is particularly good and only the most serious need apply.

The best way to post job vacanices is to make your position stand out from the crowd. You should advertise jobs for free on appropriate job boards and free job posting sites to have the best chance of recruiting the perfect individual.

Kathryn Dawson writes articles for Find My CV, an online portal for recruiters and employers to post job vacancies easily and quickly. With a Pay Per Application system, you can now advertise jobs for free, and only pay for what is delivered. Although there are lots of free job posting sites, there are no other that gives you a powerful killer questions application form that allows you to filter out applications from candidates who don’t reach your standards than Find my CV.

Best Cities to Be an Allied Health Provider

Best Cities to Be an Allied Health Provider

There are some places considered the best cities to be an allied health provider, and there are other places considered the worst. Many different careers are included in the umbrella of healthcare professions. People who provide diagnostic care, direct patient care, support services and therapeutic services for doctors, dentists and nurses in various healthcare settings are all considered allied health professionals. While healthcare professionals in all medical specialties are in demand across the country, there are some cities that are better than others if you’re going to work in these healthcare professions.

If you’ve recently graduated from a health care training program and are having trouble finding a job, you could be in the wrong city. Some cities have high unemployment rates in general, and other cities just have worse job outlooks for medical professionals. The worst cities for allied healthcare professionals, and all other healthcare professionals for that matter, are Yuma, Arizona; Fresno, California; Dalton, Georgia; Waterbury, Connecticut and Monroe, Michigan. If you live in or near these cities, you may want to consider moving for the sake of your career.

The best cities to be an allied health provider are Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Madison, Wisconsin; Fort Walton-Crestview-Destin, Florida; Des Moines, Iowa and Boston, Massachusetts. These are the places you might want to consider relocating to if you’re looking for the best job prospects in the allied health field. You can find large hospitals and university training centers as well as a plethora of clinics and private doctor’s offices in these cities. And while the cost of living in a city like Boston may be higher, allied health providers earn more in this city, so there shouldn’t be a problem maintaining a good lifestyle there.

Training for allied health careers can be completed in one to three years depending on the specific career you’re going into, the certifications required and the amount of time you have to dedicate to your classes. With an education from an accredited institution and a good city to hunt for jobs in, you should have a great career ahead of you.

The best cities to be a radiology professional are those cities where the unemployment rates are low, the number of healthcare related jobs are high, the cost of living is reasonable and the local amenities are plentiful. Although big cities like New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle seem like they’d be the best, there is so much competition and high living costs in these cities they don’t quite make the list. The following are considered the five best cities to be a radiology professional in the United States:

Sioux Falls, South Dakota:
This city has had a steady low unemployment rate since many credit card companies moved in a couple of decades ago, and it is currently at 2.5 percent. A recent million gift to local hospitals has also allowed health companies to expand employment. There are 25,600 healthcare jobs in Sioux Falls.
Madison, Wisconsin:
This Midwest city has plenty of high tech jobs and a 2.6 percent unemployment rate, with 36,300 jobs in healthcare. That is considerable for a city with just over 200,000 people. This is a particularly good city for nurses, doctors, radiologic technologists and medical assistants.
Fort Walton/Crestview/Destin, Florida:
This major metropolitan area of Florida has avoided the worst of the recession largely because of a boom in healthcare jobs, which make up about 8.5 percent of all local jobs and have helped keep the unemployment rate at around 2.7 percent. There is also lots of outdoor recreation to enjoy in this area.
Des Moines, Iowa:
Iowa’s state capital is one of the best cities to be a radiology professional with plenty of jobs in healthcare, business, education and other industries. There are more than 41,000 healthcare jobs from employers such as Iowa Health System, Principal Life Insurance Company and Wellmark Inc.
Boston, Massachusetts:
This bustling, historic city has about 488,500 healthcare jobs at Beth Israel, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and other employers. Healthcare employment grew by 2.5 percent in the first two months of 2009 alone, and this is one of the few American cities with universal healthcare.
