1000 Customer Service Jobs May Come to Greenville County

South Carolina has some good news for the Greenville County community as the city is negotiating a deal with an undisclosed international company that could bring 1000 jobs to the area. The unidentified company, known only as Project Teal in county documents, is considering Greenville to be their North American home base, but the city is also competing with Virginia and Texas for the deal that could possibly create new customer service jobs. The company behind Project Teal is working with in connection with real estate business Village Land Inc. The venture between the two companies plan on investing million dollars on creating the proposed building. Greenville city council is expected to approve the deal, which includes granting the international company tax breaks in exchange for the corporate investment to the area. If Project Teals gets approved for the tax breaks, the company or developer would save more than .3 million dollars in tax costs.

DuPont ™ Kevlar ® and Nomex ®: Helping Keep Soldiers Safe and Creating Jobs At Home

www2.dupont.com DuPont ™ Kevlar ® and Nomex ® protection products create manufacturing jobs for Americans while keeping our military man and women safe in the field. What happens when a scientist creates something. That helps stop a .50 caliber round? That helps protect against an RPG? That helps guard against a flash fire? She protects a pilot over Kandahar, a Chiefs Mate on the Gulf, a tank crew in Waziristan, a mechanic in Jalalabad. But the scientist creates something else. Unexpected. But needed. A job. In fact, she creates thousands of jobs. In New Jersey In Virginia. In South Carolina. In Louisiana. And around the world. Jobs for technicians who test the gear. Over 40,0000 TEST rounds fired every year. Over 900 helmet samples tested. Over 1000 burn tests at 2500 degrees. Jobs in manufacturing. For people who make the fibers, fabrics and the gear. Jobs for shippers, truck drivers and receivers. Thousands of flight suits and flak jackets delivered every year. Jobs for engineers who look for the next invention. 11000 new products in 2008. 2000 new patents in the last 10 years. But all this takes more than 1 scientist. It takes a company. 200 years of experience. Investment. Over 00000000 in new manufacturing capabilities for products including bullet resistant and flame resistant materials. A commitment to keep US soldiers and marines safe. The result more jobs and more innovative protection for our soldiers. To support giving every soldier and marine superior

GGN- Unemployment Rises in 30 States in January 2010

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!!!!! news.yahoo.com WASHINGTON Unemployment rose in 30 states in January, the Labor Department said Wednesday, evidence that jobs remain scarce in most regions of the country. The data is somewhat better than December, when 43 states reported higher unemployment rates, but worse than November, when rates fell in most states. Still, five states reported record-high joblessness in January: California, at 12.5 percent; South Carolina, 12.6 percent; Florida, 11.9 percent; North Carolina, 11.1 percent; and Georgia, 10.4 percent. Michigan’s unemployment rate is still the nation’s highest, at 14.3 percent, followed by Nevada, with 13 percent and Rhode Island at 12.7 percent. South Carolina and California round out the top five. There were some signs of job creation. Thirty-one states added jobs in January, up from only 11 in the previous month. But the job gains weren’t enough, in many cases, to lower the unemployment rate. For example, California reported the largest job gains, of 32500, though its unemployment rate also rose. Illinois, New York, Washington state and Minnesota reported the next highest totals of new jobs. Thank you everyone for subscribing! Reasons to Move to the Carolinas!

Reasons to Move to the Carolinas!

If you’re reading this, you must be considering relocating or retiring to North Carolina or South Carolina and by now, you probably already have your share of reasons why you want to and you think North Carolina or South Carolina is your Best Place Live.  So, here are a few more reasons to consider.

Aside from great climates, affordable living, jobs, and quality lifestyles…

The richness of history and natural beauty are top reasons why we love North Carolina and South Carolina. In the span of four hours you can go from the breathtaking Smoky Mountains in Asheville NC, to the beautiful blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean in Charleston SC.  What more could you want?  How about the stunning foothills of the center of the state?

Beside the richness of the history and the natural beauty, both North Carolina and South Carolina take full advantage of the temperate climate and throughout both states, cities and towns pack their calendars full of events year round.

Some of the more famous events include the Bele Chere Music Festival in Asheville, NC, the performing arts festival, Spoleto, in Charleston, SC, and the Beaufort Water Festival, in Beaufort SC.

Along with the coastline and mountains, history and natural beauty, North Carolina is famous for the Research Triangle Park (RTP) located near Raleigh-Durham and Chapel Hill.  It is the largest research park in the United States.  The Research Triangle Park is home to one of the largest IBM operations in the world, with approximately 11,000 employees in RTP. The park also hosts one of GlaxoSmithKline’s largest R&D centers boasting approximately 5,000 employees.  Perhaps RTP has a potential future employer for you.

Further inland to the west is The Piedmont Triad Research Park (PTRF), in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  PTRF is a highly interactive, master-planned innovation community developed to support life science and information technology and development.

In addition to being the second largest banking center in the United States, Charlotte, North Carolina is home to University City in which University Research Park resides.  University Research Park one of the largest research parks in the state. The University City area of Charlotte contains large companies such as TIAA-CREF which help contribute to the city’s prowess in the financial industry.

Charlotte is also home to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.  The Amphitheatre serves as one of the city’s main venues for large music and entertainment performances. The venue offers both reserved and lawn seating and can accommodate up to 19,500 spectators.

Many other cities throughout the Carolinas have booming business centers however, of special note are Columbia, SC and Charleston, SC.

North Carolina and South Carolina are crisscrossed by 6 major interstates and over 100,000 miles of state highways with some of the greatest amount of growth is occurring along the I-85 corridor.

If you are traveling a distance, the Carolinas are home to 8 International airports in convenient locations.

North Carolina:

Greensboro-Piedmont Triad International Airport

Raleigh-Raleigh/Durham International Airport

South Carolina:

The hot jobs in the Carolinas include medical, technology, banking, education, and manufacturing. Once known as a textiles center, in the past couple of decades many manufacturers moved overseas. Therefore, many corporations have taken note of the skilled workers, and tax benefits and moved in.

North Carolina and South Carolina are about comfort, family and food. North Carolina is especially known for its barbecue. There are two types of barbecue; Eastern, with its red pepper and vinegar based sauce, and Western, which uses a tomatoes and brown sugar in addition to the red pepper and vinegar.

The Carolinas are also known for their great seafood as well, and especially in South Carolina.  South Carolina’s distinctive style for cooking seafood is called, “Calabash”. Originating in the town of the same name, Calabash style cooking dips the seafood in evaporated milk, then a breading mixture and it’s deep-fried.  And, where better to get river trout than the mountains of Western North Carolina.
