eNannySource.com Teams up with the National Association for Nanny Care on Water Safety
New York, NY (Vocus) July 15, 2010
In June of this year a nanny and her charge died in a swimming accident. This tragedy has been well documented in the media and once the news cycle has ended our concern at eNannySource.com and the NANC is that people will soon forget the importance of water safety when children are under a nanny’s care. The American Red Cross says each year more than 830 children ages 14 and under die as a result of unintentional drowning. On average, an annual 3,600 injuries occur to children due to a near-drowning incident.
eNannySource.com and Sue Downey and Lora Brawley of the National Association for Nanny Care have teamed up to help get the word out to both nannies and families that water safety is paramount during the summer months. American Red Cross has an excellent article on water safety publication.
In addition to water safety all nannies should be trained in CPR. This is important for all nannies whether they are involved in water activities or not. Nannies interested in reading about CPR can read about it in this nanny cpr article.
Lisa Werth, a nanny with a long history with water safety has written an excellent article for the eNannySource.com blog, nanny water safety. She has a long history with water safety beginning when she nearly drowned when she was four. A childhood friend of hers drowned and her cousin’s toddler drowned in a bath tub. We’re fortunate to have nannies like Lisa that have taken this issue on in a very vocal articulate way.

Find a Babysitter.com.au Annual Survey Reveals High Demand for Nannies
(PRWEB) August 29, 2007
Find A Babysitter.com.au recently surveyed hundreds of its customers to get feedback about the site. 2,500 parents were surveyed from across Australia. Almost four hundred parents replied to the online survey, giving insight into what parents really need in relation to childcare.
Find A Babysitter.com.au (FAB) is an introduction and job posting web-site that helps Australian families find nannies and babysitters in an efficient and affordable way. Since starting in July 2005 FAB has had phenomenal growth, responding to a significant need for nannies and babysitters. FAB is now the leading childcare introduction site in Australia.
Survey results confirmed that most FAB customers require part-time daytime care. The majority of customers surveyed were looking for part-time nannies (53%) for daytime and occasional care. This was followed by the need for after-school care (14 %). The remaining parents were looking for babysitters for evenings, full-time nannies, au pairs or before-school care. The highest demand was for Sydney nannies.
These results were similar to the Australian Bureau of Statistics survey that was released in June 2006. It revealed that 188,400 children required additional formal care. This care was needed for before &/or after-school care (64,400), long daycare (52,900) and occasional care (40,800).
The survey also asked customers about their satisfaction with the web-site for finding babysitters and nannies. Website usability was a key factor in parent satisfaction with the site.
“An overwhelming number of parents reported that they liked how easy and fast the site was to use,” according to founder Delia Timms.
“The range and number of carers online was also a significant feature that parents appreciated. Parents liked being able to access such a broad range of babysitters and nannies easily,” says Timms.
www.findababysitter.com.au has over 3800 current babysitters and nannies registered across Australia. Profiles of the carers online show details like their qualifications, experience, availability and hourly rates. Parents can email selected carers from this database. They can also use job postings on FAB to attract applicants. There are currently over 150 babysitting and nanny jobs on the site.
“Customers reported that they really liked the ‘double whammy’ approach to finding the right match at Find A Babysitter.com.au. This sets FAB apart from other classified or job posting sites out there, giving customers value for money,” says Timms.
“Parents also liked having direct contact with carers because there is no ‘middle man’. Customers reported it gave them more control, freedom and access to nannies. Parents also liked the cost savings by cutting out placement fees and overheads,” said Timms.
Convenience was also a benefit of using the web-site. Customers liked to access Find A Babysitter.com.au at any time of the day, from any location – work or home.
The survey confirms that Australians are continuing to embrace the Internet as an efficient and effective way of meeting specific needs. As households access the Internet more, they continue to utilize sites like FAB to solve problems.
findababysitter.com.au has nannies, after-school carers and babysitters in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Hobart and Launceston.

NANNY MERRY Reviews
NANNY MERRY
A little brown house, with an old elm-tree before it, a frame of lattice-work around the door, with a broad stone for a step–this is where old Grannie Burt lives. And there she is sitting in the doorway with her Bible in her lap. She can’t read it, for she is blind; but she likes to have it by her; she likes the “feeling of it,” she says. “When my Bible is away,” Grannie Burt says, “I am sometimes troubled and worried; but if I can only touch it, my troubles are all gone; for what harm can any

Nannies: Arm Yourself Against Internet Nanny Scammers. Nannies are targeted by scams on online nanny agencies, Craigslist and other nanny job related sites.

Would you open your door if you knew that the person on the other side was going to take your wallet? Most nannies do everything to educate and protect themselves from harm, yet they let down their defenses when it comes to money. eNannySource.com works hard to protect nannies from scams!
How nanny scams work:
1. The nanny scammer will offer a nanny job without a nanny interview, usually with a high salary.
2. The scammer will usually tell the nanny they are moving to their town.
3. The scammer will send a forged money order or some other form of payment to insure the job or for purchasing items. When the money arrives, it is for much more than expected.
4. They provide instructions to forward the excess money to a third party (really it’s them).
5. After you write your own personal check against your own bank account for the difference or you wire the money straight from your own account, you will find out that the money they sent is fraudulent and the bank will require you to PAY BACK all of the money you sent on to the scammer (sometimes in excess of ,000)!
Here is a checklist to keep under your keyboard so you will know the signs and when to use that delete key:
If a family wants to hire you without meeting you or even checking your background, they are most likely a scammer. (Would you hire someone to care for your children whom you have not even met?)
The offer is too good to be true. You all know what that means.
Anyone who tells you that they will send you money to purchase items for them – toys, video games, etc. is a scammer.
If someone says they are moving to your town, but they are currently out of the country, they are a scammer.
Never accept any form of payment over the internet.
Never provide banking information.
Never try to cash a check from someone you don’t know. No legitimate person would send you money up front.
If one or more of these apply, use that delete button!
If you are unsure whether or not someone is attempting to scam you, and you have gone over the checklist, you are welcome to contact info@enannysource.com and we will be happy to help concerned nannies. Be smart, be safe, and use that delete button!
