FDM Academy Scam Guide Announcement: Check Training Provider Accreditations
FDM Academy Scam Guide Announcement: Check Training Provider Accreditations
(PRWeb UK) October 25, 2010
FDM Group is one of the United Kingdom’s largest IT graduate employers, and is responsible for launching the careers of information technology enthusiasts worldwide. With the recent global economic crisis, many students have been graduating with no incoming employment opportunities and have more debt than income. In addition, many training institutions are not credible and are considered scams, as they take students money without offering to help find employment opportunities upon graduation.
The FDM Academy has recently released an article on their website which aims to educate people on choosing a reputable training institution while avoiding scams. According to the FDM Academy, all of the potential training institutions should be interviewed before selecting and investing in one.
When interviewing an education group or training institution, one of the most important points to find out is who the institution is accredited by. If the answer is them, then it is likely that they are not a reputable company. The training institution should be accredited by well known external associations or institutes. For instance, FDM is accredited by the Institute of IT Training (IITT), and their trainees are also offered the opportunity to gain certifications from Microsoft, VMware, Prince2, Sun Systems and ISTQB. Reputable external certification opportunities should be available at any training institute, and any company which claims to have the best and most reputable internal certifications should be very well known (I.E. Microsoft, etc.).
With proper certification and education from an accredited school or training programme, graduates will have a good foundation for finding a career in their field of interest. In addition, scams can be avoided by properly interviewing prospective schools and inquiring about accreditations.
FDM Academy Scam Killer Guide
As the world continues to march through troubled economic times, it is often difficult for new graduates to find suitable jobs after leaving University. Further training and experience in the business world can help, however IT firm FDM Group warns that it is all too easy to be scammed by a company that claims to be offering high-quality training. To help wary graduates to identify a good deal, they have suggested 10 “Scam-Killer Questions”. FDM Academy Scam Killer questions article here.

Erin Dolan Debuts the ’350 Art Series’ at the ‘Invest to Improve’ Charity Art Event to Benefit Rock ‘n Renew
Erin Dolan Debuts the ’350 Art Series’ at the ‘Invest to Improve’ Charity Art Event to Benefit Rock ‘n Renew
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 13, 2010
On Oct. 22, 2010, Erin Dolan, a New York City-based artist, educator and art director for the Rock ‘n Renew Foundation, will debut the “350 Art Series,” at the “Invest to Improve” charity art event to benefit the Rock ‘n Renew Foundation. The series consists of 350 black-and-white oil paintings created as part of a global call-to-action for community gardens and restoration projects. Proceeds from the event will help fund the Rock ‘n Renew Foundation’s educational and environmental programs geared toward serving urban youth. Programs include urban farming, green job training, healthy food and nutrition initiatives and more. Rock ‘n Renew has three ecology center sites in New York City, New Jersey and Hawaii, with more than 300 partner schools throughout the United States.
“I was inspired to create the 350 series to bring further attention to the number 350, which is the number that many scientists believe is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere,” said Erin Dolan, founder of Erin Dolan Art Studio and art director of the Rock ‘n Renew Foundation. “As an educator and an artist, I want to encourage students to take part in art projects that directly relate to the local and global issues that continue to challenge our lives.”
Rock ‘n Renew Founder and professional musician Jonny Dubowsky will be at the event to celebrate the launch of the non-profit’s new, hi-tech urban farm program that uses Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter, Antengo, StayClassy.org and other online tools alongside the more traditional gardening tools. Leveraging these tools, volunteers at a Rock ‘n Renew community garden are now able to plan work days, put out instant localized requests for equipment and share progress with their entire social network without even taking off their work-gloves.
According to Dubowsky, “We are very excited about the launch of Rock ‘n Renew’s new hi-tech urban farm program and partnerships that are helping us reinvent the local fundraising model. This new combination of social networking tools and technologies has the power to amplify our ideas to rally friends and local businesses to donate time and money to create community restoration projects around the world. The smartphone is now just as important as the shovel in creating a successful community garden; it is the new amplifier, and Rock ‘n Renew would like to turn it up to 11.”
A silent auction and raffle will also be conducted at the event and will include prizes, such as autographed rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, concert tickets, hotel/spa packages, restaurant gift certificates, Broadway show tickets, eco-fashion items and more.
The “Invest to Renew” charity art event will be held on Oct. 22nd (7:00-10:00 p.m.) at whY-Q (75 Greene Street, 5th Floor Penthouse, between Broome and Spring Street, New York, NY 10012). Donations are welcome.
For press inquiries, please contact Katie Dolan at 203-257-0452 or marykate(at)rocknrenew(dot)com
Press may also RSVP to marykate(at)rocknrenew(dot)com, and are welcome to attend a special preview of the collection at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of the event.

About Rock ‘n Renew
Rock ’n Renew is a non-profit organization that helps musicians, students, and their communities live and act in sustainable ways. Recognizing the connection between the health of culture and the health of the planet, we use art and music to generate excitement about green solutions as we custom-design eco-blueprints for concert tours, schools, businesses, and events. Since its inception in 2006, Rock ’n Renew has brought the message of sustainability to thousands of people through rock shows, festivals, lectures, and installations. For more information, please visit http://www.rocknrenew.com
How Rock ’n Renew Was Founded
Founded by musician Jonny Dubowsky, Rock ’n Renew is committed to the practical pursuit of environmental health and sustainability. As Jonny’s band, Jonny Lives!, met with increasing success, they began frequent tours of over 10,000 miles each. Concerned about fuel consumption, Jonny researched bio-diesel as an alternative to gasoline and ultimately transformed the group’s tours into carbon-neutral events. From this initial commitment, Rock ’n Renew grew into a multi-faceted organization with the resources and connections to make real environmental change happen. Our target areas of action —Energy, Ecology, and Society —represent a three-pronged approach that urges conservation, promotes stewardship, and recognizes collective action as the best way to protect our future. With an unapologetic rock-culture sensibility and a wide playlist of innovative events, Rock ’n Renew puts environmental responsibility center-stage, with a unique artistic edge.
