Social Entrepreneurs Ring the Bell for Students in Technology Skills this Summer

Social Entrepreneurs Ring the Bell for Students in Technology Skills this Summer

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) June 13, 2007

Digit All Systems (DAS) Tech-Ed Summer Camp will offer a technology learning and fun camp for Baltimore area middle and high school students. DAS has been serving the greater Baltimore community since 1999 as a non-profit alternative for technology education and literacy programs for students and citizens. Lance Lucas, DAS CEO, represents a new breed of social entrepreneur emerging across the country that is placing the needs of people above profits. Lucas is convinced that many students will not be able to meet simple entry level requirements for the jobs in technology as long as school systems continue to lag behind the curve in introducing and maintaining technology curricula. Through its programs, DAS is successfully bridging the “digital-divide” one student at a time, with innovative in-school and after-school tech curricula and professional certifications in many underserved Baltimore communities.

This summer, DAS introduces the Tech-Ed Summer Camp Baltimore’s for boys and girls ages 10-17. Four computer technology camps with morning and afternoon sessions will be offered Monday July 2, 2007 through Saturday August 25, 2007. The camp sessions include Microsoft Office® 2007 Xtreme, Lego MindStorm® Robotics, The Urban Video Game Academy ™ for Video Game Design and Programming, and Computer Repair Essentials. The fee for each two-week camp session is $ 249.00.

“Our program provides a summer learning and fun alternative for Baltimore youths who want to get a headstart on software skills, some of which are not currently offered in many area schools. We have a great curriculum taught by some of the top area IT professionals in the greater Baltimore/Washington DC area. And our credentials combine with a fervent commitment to make a difference in the future of our kids, by integrating learning computer technology with career opportunity,” says Jean Henry, President of DAS.

DAS Tech-Ed Summer Camp enrollment is limited and on a first-come, first-served application basis. Applications are available online at www.dasnow.com or by calling 443-729-2469.

CBT Planet Debuts New MCITP Boot Camps

CBT Planet Debuts New MCITP Boot Camps

CBT Planet debuts new MCITP Boot Camps

Miami, FL (Vocus) September 8, 2009

It’s back to camp time at CBT Planet with the announcement of a new MCITP boot camp for 2010. Campers are actually IT professionals pursuing their Microsoft Certified IT Professional credentials from Microsoft. The camp environment is actually a high tech computer training center staffed by certified instructors dedicated to teaching students how to take their IT careers to new, professional heights.

The MCITP certification is a high-level certification that validates the certificate holder’s expertise and range of skills in specific Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server 2008 or Microsoft Office Project Server. By earning an MCITP certification focused on a specific Microsoft technology, IT professionals are able to receive professional recognition of their skills. The MCITP credential is a professional credential that is recognized industry-wide.

Students with the prerequisite experience and knowledge can enroll in a MCITP 2008 boot camp focused on the technology and job role desired and prepare to earn their professional certifications in mere days rather than the more traditional months of preparation. For example, an IT professional who is responsible for the enterprise’s IT environment and architecture must have specific Microsoft administrative skills. In order to earn the MCITP Enterprise Administrator credential that is often required of this particular job role, a series of five extensive certification exams must be passed. While massive amounts of knowledge will be tested, the MCITP Enterprise Administrator boot camp takes less than two weeks to completely prepare candidates for this certification.

The accelerated format isn’t a shortcut; it requires long days of concentrated instruction. Students attending a boot camp need to be prepared for a rigorous, fast paced training program that follows a precise curriculum. Certified instructors teach students using a variety of teaching methods designed to help students quickly learn complex topics – and retain that knowledge. Classroom style lectures and demonstrations are supplemented with hands-on labs, practice exams, drills, and other interactive training activities. By attending a boot camp, trainees are able to immerse themselves in the Microsoft technology, exploring it and acquiring new skills. The learning environment of a boot camp is a unique training environment filled with motivated students and knowledgeable instructors.

CBT Planet holds these training camps at its Sarasota, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia training facilities. Airfare, lodging, breakfast and lunch, course materials, and exam vouchers are factored into the package price. An exam pass guarantee ensures that students attending the boot camp are well-equipped to become MCITP-certified at the end of the training.

About CBT Planet:

CBT Planet has become well known for its enterprise training solutions and IT training courses covering all of the major certifications, technologies, and beyond. How Hot Tubs Help Children with Severe Burns

How Hot Tubs Help Children with Severe Burns

Kids Enjoying Camp Nah Nah Mah

Riverton, UT (Vocus) September 9, 2010

Bullfrog Spas recently became a sponsor of Camp Nah Nah Mah, a summer camp for children recovering from severe burns. Bullfrog’s monetary contribution to the camp was made through the Salt Lake City Firefighters Association, an organization that helps provide much of the fundraising for the camp.

Camp Nah Nah Mah (Ute for “togetherness in friendship”) is located just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. This annual four-day camp, put on by volunteers from the University of Utah Hospital Burn Center and Firefighters Association, along with many other caring individuals, allows children 6-12 years of age to get to know other children their age who are facing the same challenges in their burn recovery process.

Campers are able to both learn and have fun while swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, practicing archery, creating arts and crafts, and doing many other activities that promote self-esteem. In addition, the campers are provided a safe place to talk with counselors and fellow burn victims and are encouraged to begin to develop strategies for succeeding in their personal challenges.

Bullfrog Spas is always concerned with improving health and wellness and is pleased to be able to support a worthy cause that helps kids in need of critical health care. Bullfrog International also puts every effort into creating products that improve health and wellness.

Recently, immersion in hot water and use of jetted water massages, or hydrotherapy, has been shown to improve both mental and physical health in studies on adults of all ages. Bullfrog Spas are known for leading the pool and spa industry in health promoting hydrotherapy options. Bullfrog’s patented JetPak System offers 18 unique massages that can be interchanged and personalized to provide focused therapy for any individual at any time.

When asked about the support of firefighters and the camp Jaden Kemp, Director of Sales & Marketing for Bullfrog Spas, commented, “Bullfrog Spas is always looking for ways to reward any worthy cause. Firefighters have a difficult and grueling job saving lives. We want to honor their work and the causes that they support.” Bullfrog Spas plans to continue to work on the front lines of health and wellness by continuing to produce hot tubs that improve lives through better health and by sponsoring important facilities and programs like the University Hospital Burn Center and Camp Nah Nah Mah.

MomandDadCamping.com is Reminding about the Great Contest for Kids

MomandDadCamping.com is Reminding about the Great Contest for Kids

Kids Around the Campfire

(PRWEB) July 29, 2010

Now that the summer reached its midpoint some vacation memories were already made and some are still waiting to happen. Many kids already went camping, fishing or canoeing with their families. All of them are invited to take part in a contest for the “most awesome summer story”.

Beata Antoszek from MomandDadcamping.com says: ”This is a contest for kids up to 16 years of age. It encourages their creativity and independent thinking. It is also a great way to practice writing skills during the summer months, when a lot of knowledge learned at school is idle or being forgotten. Now is a good time to put it in use in a fun way.”

The contest, first announced at the end of June, encourages children to write their own story about their most awesome summer adventure. Preferably it would be a story about a camping trip adventure, but other stories about outdoors and nature are also welcome. For full details about contest requirements go to: http://www.momanddadcamping.com/forum/general-discussions/just-kids/most-awesome-summer-story-contest-kids.html

Beata adds: ”We all love summer, but kids love it the most. It is their hard earned rest time and play time. Most kids have some wonderful memories they like to share with their families and friends back home, but they may need some encouragement to write about it. It is their parents’ job to give them a nudge to put words to paper. We would like to see some funny and inspiring stories from children, to see the world through their eyes again.”

All entrants will be rewarded by being published on the MomandDadCamping.com website. The two winners will get digital cameras. Maybe next year they will be able to enter a photo contest.

For all parents Beata Antoszek from MomandDadCamping.com is offering a free report called, “5 Biggest Mistakes That Camping Parents Make” together with the “Ultimate Family Camping Checklist”.

You can get your free reports along with other valuable information by going to http://www.momanddadcamping.com
